Ethan Coen’s first full-length play, Women or Nothing, has been extended before opening night. The dark comedy about a lesbian couple attempting to have a baby will now play at off-Broadway’s Atlantic Theater Company through October 13. The show, which officially opens on September 16, was initially set to close on October 6.
Directed by David Cromer, the world premiere production stars Susan Pourfar, Robert Beitzel, Deborah Rush and Halley Feiffer.
Women or Nothing is a play about two women (Pourfar and Feiffer) so desperate to have a child that one of them will even sleep with a man (Beitzel). Who the man is, what he thinks is going on, what the women think about what he thinks, and what the mother (Rush) of one of the women reveals about her own colorful past—it all defies belief. Why then does it all make sense?
Women or Nothing features scenic design by Michele Spadaro, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by Bradley King and original music and sound design by Daniel Kluger.
